Hello my beloved friends!
How wonderful this life is! Since my last post in.... eh hem, July (sorry!), so very much has happened in my little world! Life has been enjoyable, difficult, and ever so rudely pushing me outside of my comfort zone. God's kindness to me continues to astonish and I can't believe how much I love him! He is everything and has made this difficult past few months more than bearable, he has made them enjoyable :) Here's a tiny breakdown of where I'm at!
August of 2016 marked the beginning of my senior year of nursing school! EEEEK!! I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by and I feel so very fortunate to have been a part of the group of young professionals in my cohort. This is truly a group of people who have made me a better person! Most of all, this group right here.... (Michelle, Suzy, Jake + Abby, and Me!)

These sweet people have been my rock for the past year and a half and I cannot imagine going through life without their friendship! We laugh, cry, fail, succeed, and love the Lord together and I believe we will be friends for life :) I love this excellent group of my fellow soon-to-be-nurses!
As for this last semester.... H A R D. Wow, was it hard! I have never had so much work, with so many major projects due on the same date, with this little sleep in my life! I know I learned a lot, but all semester is a blur in my mind... maybe in a few months I'll be able to remember what all happened! All I know is that it was A LOT! So many crazed late night giggle sessions with my buddies, in complete denial of how much work we had to get done but by the grace of God, we made it! We all survived and all passed! What a wonderful life this is!
Christmas break came at exactly the right time I needed it to and my soul has found such rest and peace by being able to just be still. By being able to turn my brain off and take a breath without anything running in the back of my mind. Sweet mindlessness has been my reward for one of the most grueling semesters to date.
After completing my Pediatric rotation at Seattle Children's, I have completely fallen in love with this area of care! I say that after every rotation but I think this is the real deal folks! It might have been my maternal instinct kicking in to overdrive but I felt so at home and in love with everyone I cared for. I would love to work in this field once I graduate! Hopefully at the Children's Hospital through Providence here in Spokane.
January brings the beginning of my final semester and we have only three short weeks of school before we head out on our trips! Michelle, Suzy, and Abby are going to Taiwan, Jake to Kenya, and I to Mexico! Adventure ensues! This is the dream y'all! This is why I have been fighting my entire, albeit short, adult life to achieve; Medical Missions. Ahhhhhhh, I cannot explain how much joy I have in my heart and the amazing journey the Lord has brought me on to reach this point. Life is good, and God is great.
I have the honor of traveling with these lovely ladies (minus our fearless leader) in our adventure to Mexico! (Please ignore the horrific jeans I'm wearing... I thought photos would be from the torso up!)
From left to right is Kyna (Kee-nah), Shandon, Me!, Chelle (Shell-lee), Hali, and Kristen. This is the best of the best y'all, I cannot wait to advance the Kingdom of God with them!

Once I return from Mexico I will go pretty much straight into my senior practicum, which will hopefully be spent at Seattle Children's. I will be working the weekly shifts of one of the nurses on staff there throughout March and by the end will, hopefully, be completing all of the tasks of a staff nurse. This will be the true test of my skills and I cannot wait! From there I will graduate in May and take the NCLEX in June to become licensed. Then I'll be fully legal to take care of y'all!
Once school is over I will be wrapping up my time west of the mountains and I already miss it! I have made the most amazing friends, lived outside of my comfort zone, and learned a lot about myself in the process. I have no idea what the future holds but this is a good life, and ours is a good Father, so bring it on!
Thank you for taking the time to read my spiel and when you pray, please remember me and my fellow students. This walk is a hard one but God's grace is sufficient and your prayer is powerful, my friends. As you move in power for this world, remember one humble nursing student and she will be grateful forever :)
I love you all and I hope this Christmas was one that brought you endless joy and perfect peace. God bless, my friends.
